Classification Of LED Light Strips

- May 20, 2019-

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a solid device that converts electrical energy into light energy. Its structure is mainly composed of a PN junction chip, an electrode, and an optical system.

LED soft light belts can be used with different power supplies depending on the model. How much do you know about the power supply? Do you know the type of power supply and its different meanings for LED soft lights? Today is for everyone. Talk about the classification of LED soft lights with power supply.

LED soft light with power supply has different classification methods according to different standards. This article mainly explains the classification according to the different driving methods, which can be issued as two types of voltage regulation and constant current. The following will explain in detail. .

According to the driving method, it can be divided into two categories:

Constant current

Pay attention to the maximum withstand current and voltage values used, which limits the number of LEDs used;

The constant current driving circuit drives the LED, which is ideal, but relatively high in price;

The constant current circuit is not afraid of load short circuit, but it is forbidden to completely open the load;

The output current of the constant current driving circuit is constant, and the DC voltage of the output varies within a certain range according to the magnitude of the load resistance. The load resistance is small, the output voltage is low, the load resistance is larger, and the output voltage is also The higher.

Regulated

The brightness is affected by the rectified voltage change;

Driving the LED with a voltage-stabilized driving circuit, each string needs to be added with a suitable resistor to make each string of LEDs display brightness average;

The voltage regulator circuit is not afraid of the load open circuit, but it is forbidden to completely short the load;

When the parameters in the voltage regulator circuit are determined, the output voltage is fixed, and the output current changes as the load increases or decreases.
